The 2018 Subaru lineup represents at the IIHS Testing Center

The Subaru lineup already headed to IIHS testing centers and in early December the news was released; once again, several vehicles from the new Subaru lineup earned top scores for their safety worthiness.

In the industry, Subaru is known for their vehicles that can withstand serious collisions. This year the IIHS made their guidelines even more stringent, but Subaru took on the challenge with ease and four models- the 2018 Subaru Impreza, Legacy, Outback, and sporty WRX- earned TOP SAFETY PICK+ nods, and the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek and Forester earned the TOP SAFETY PICK award. The cherry on top? All models received a Superior score for preventing front crashes when equipped with Subaru EyeSight®

Watching crash test videos can be jarring, but the 2018 Subaru Outback performed well at this new requirement that checks passenger side safety!

To get onto either lists, the vehicles needed to go through several tests. The test crashes are:

  • Moderate overlap front
  • Driver-side small overlap front
  • (New for 2018) passenger-side small overlap front
  • Side, roof strength and head restraints & seats

Scores, front crash prevention technology, and headlight strength are the factors that differentiate TOP SAFETY PICK recipients from the PICK+ recipients, but making it onto either list is impressive.

If safety and security is what you're looking for with your vehicle, then the Subaru brand has you covered. Come see us at JK Subaru, located in Nederland, TX to check out our selection!
